A Note to Subscribers and Readers About Committees This Week
Hello subscribers and readers,
Since the founding of this newsletter, its been practice and promise to give a broad analysis and preview of legislation hitting Council committees. The budget crunch and attendant fiascos of the months of June and July, however, combined with a seriously impacted and dense CED committee meeting this week have gotten in the way on fulfilling that goal with substantive and accurate analysis. So there will be no preview this week.
OO will be live reporting as usual tomorrow from committee meetings at the new Twitter account, however. If you haven't been following it, it's an all-business account for the publication with live threads and articles and not much else, so you can find the news you're looking for quickly–x.com/Oak_Observer.
Worth noting, there will be a special meeting to reconsider the Public Ethics Commission ballot measure tomorrow at 4:00pm. It had been voted down on June 26th by full council, but during a recent meeting CM Fife rescheduled it for another look. OO will also be covering that, as well.
